New to this second edition are enhanced muscle-building exercises, instructions for optimal rest and recovery, and an assortment of original recipes. Kalym also includes samples from his personal food diary. With over 500 instructional photos, Complete Calisthenics takes readers on a path to creating physical endurance, agility, and power. The book is suitable for every level of athlete, from beginner to experienced.

  1. Klaus (verified owner)

Solid approach to unpacking calisthenics. Well worth the investigation. While not a beginners’ book (entirely), the knowledge base presented is approachable and easy to understand. At the other side of the spectrum, the content isn’t too advanced, but the workouts detailed are. The more advanced moves will be – and I cannot stress this enough – hard.

    Worth the low price, y’all.

  2. KatherineB (verified owner)

    As described. Thicker than expected

  3. Chuck (verified owner)

Enjoy reading the book. Very informative. If you’re a beginner or advanced person and exercises then this book is good to have.

  4. EL (verified owner)

One of the best calisthenics books available. Covers pretty much everything you’ld want to know. Clear sequential pictures, much movement regression progression info….the whole 9 yards. Maybe a new color edition? Black and white, only thing left to improve.

  5. Michael M. (verified owner)

I’ve been searching and experimenting for 5 years after a three level fusion for a workout that relieves back and leg pain post surgery. I finally found it with this book. Thank you Mr. Kalym.

  6. Lennard (verified owner)

    Absolute Emfehlung.

  7. PK (verified owner)

Good buy with detailed excercise and sample Workouts

  8. Kristy Doyle (verified owner)

I would’ve given 5 stars if it didn’t take 5 weeks to receive the book. Other than it taking a long time, it came in great shape, which I was surprised since it did take a long time. But I’m happy with my purchase.

  9. A. Matthews (verified owner)

One of the best if the best. Top two books on calisthenics besides “Convict Conditioning”

  10. Lori S (verified owner)

I purchased this book for my brother & he raves about this book. He said it provides detailed information & most the exercises have illustrations/photos.

  11. Ipaddy (verified owner)

Very good introduction to this topic, especially for beginners like me.

  12. Sprig (verified owner)

    Perfect book as described.

  13. Christopher (verified owner)

Chock full of great information. Good for beginners as he stresses that form is most important, rather than quantity of reps/sets. Pictures illustrate well each position and most transitions.

  14. D (verified owner)

Good book about calisthenics. Worth a read when getting started. I would recommend. The book covers a lot of material and goes through training options as well.

  15. simondile (verified owner)

Great way to progress and improve, sensible exercises, good description of each task. I’ve got so much better since buying this. Definitely recommend

  16. le petit oeuf (verified owner)

Since buying this book nine months ago, I’ve come back to it many times as a reference source. It’s a thorough listing of exercises and programmes for calisthenics, which the author has clearly put immense amounts of time and effort into creating. It works well as a reference book to use as you develop your calisthenics routines.

The reason I’ve given it four stars, not five, is because I sometimes find it hard to navigate. At 300+ pages, one is unlikely to read the book cover to cover, so an index would be a useful addition to locate specific information.

  17. Manny Cordero (verified owner)

    Great book! Very well written.

  18. Elizabeth (verified owner)

I am an avid collector of different types of exercises that I write down and put together to create unique workouts and this book is a great addition to that collection!

  19. Al Harrington (verified owner)

    Good price and received quickly

  20. Hs (verified owner)

Actually i started this using youtube videos. But they were really not that helpful and not consistent. Jonny sins suggested this book. Love it.
I can see every page well thought. Highly recommend it if you are into calisthenics.
Note: im a beginner so it might not be that good for advanced ppl.

I have worked out in many different ways to achieve different goals. This book provides a complete view of exercises, conditioning, progressions, and programs. Read it from cover to cover, then apply the lessons learned.

  22. brian d. bouvier (verified owner)

not done with it yet, but love what is here that I have seen so far. Looking for an exercise book? consider this one.

  23. David Clark (verified owner)

Great book to use as a guide and information. Very clear and concise and is very good at setting out how to perform each exercise correctly and safely for best results. Handy pictorial guides as well, with progressive work out programmes at the back. This book is versatile enough for you to easily make up your own programmes based on your fitness/experience level and progression requirements if desired. Well worth the money.

  24. omar (verified owner)

This is a good calisthenics book. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that it was missing a lot of information. There’s not a lot of exercises with gymnastic rings. It also doesn’t tell you how to create a workout. How are we supposed to create a workout if we don’t know where to start. It does not tell you how to train for skills. It just shows you progressions. overall, this book is not complete about calisthenics. It needs more information about how to train for everything. How to get better at weighted. How to do more reps. How to hold statics longer. None of that was answered but the exercises were good. The only thing missing was more rings exercises and more indormation about how to train for these elements.

  25. Kliment (verified owner)

Awesome book, came in time and as it was described

  26. Rafael Gonçalves (verified owner)

This book is the balance between technicall
information in a simplistic manner when it comes to bodyweigt exercises and physicall condition. Not too much overwhelming information, simple and has everthing you need to know, easy to follow trough. Just the nutrition part i think it lacks a bit.

  27. Kat (verified owner)

I read a review that stated this book wasn’t for women (I am a woman and women can do it) and that it isn’t for beginners. This book gives you a base workout to finish before you can move on to the other moves which is important. Very detailed with pictures which is awesome. If you’re looking for a book that gives you weeks of workouts or a progression to follow word for word I wouldn’t recommend this book but if you have a baseline of workouts already this book is good. You pick your own variations.

  28. michael pena (verified owner)

Them programs nice….. I recommend after u graduate with this book start doing them exercises in gymnastics ring for the nxt progression.

  29. Scott Hume (verified owner)

I found this calisthenics book to be an excellent resource that is suitable for both beginners and those at an advanced level. It is well-organized and provides clear, step-by-step instructions for a wide range of techniques. I appreciate that the book is easy to navigate, which makes it easy to find what you’re looking for quickly. I can go straight to the technique I want to learn, which saves me time and allows me to get started right away. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their calisthenics skills.

Excellent book for serious exercise warriors. Might be to advanced for beginners.

  32. Was of great help, helped me to determine ring size for resizing. Thank you. (verified owner)

Pretty much became my calisthenics bible.

It breaks down exercises is easy way to understand and all progressions make sense. Have seen a share of improvement in last year. Keep going back to it whenever I’m ready to progress further.

    Thank you.
