  1. KTH (verified owner)

It is a pocket companion, so it is not an extensive book on every food or restaurant chain out there. However, it is great for the basics: 4,500 foods, 100s of brands, and 30 restaurant chains. I use it because I have to decrease calories, decrease sodium, and increase potassium. It helps me make better choices. I tried using diet plans, but they didn’t work for me. I’m just not that disciplined. I believe, that over time, this book will help me get on the right track.

  2. Bobbie (verified owner)

I bought it for my elderly mom who needs to pay strict attention to food nutrients due to health issues. I would prefer one of the many internet sites or apps to this but she is more comfortable and independent with a book. So far it’s working well for her and she likes it.

  3. Gail Smith (verified owner)

This is a handy book for tracking different food elements, like carbs and sodium. It also lists lots of foods. My only minor issue is I find the print a bit small.

  4. Bethany (verified owner)

When I initially got this book, I was confused as to the organization. Also, a large part of the book is dedicated to eating out. After using it for a while I love it. I have to keep track of the protein and sodium I ingest. This gives me that information and more. Also, it is a compact resource and there isn’t a lot of extraneous chatter. The price is right also. I recommend it highly. I gave it 4 points instead of 5 due to the amount of eating out info.

  5. Laura Orr (verified owner)

Handy compact, full of helpful food values for making better choices

  6. I Love Books (verified owner)

So small I can keep it on my kitchen table. Easy to read. Just the facts and nothing more. I would have preferred it use government sources to list the items by weight. Instead of a medium banana, list it as 100g or 1 ounce.

  7. KV (verified owner)

Has several of the fast food places my husband goes to.

  8. Rose Ann Kleinman (verified owner)

A little hard to read the small print. It’s limited with the items due to it’s size but overall, it’s not a bad book. I would recommend.

  9. Madelyn Walker (verified owner)

Takes too long to look up single foods because it is by category with no overall index of items. The information is good and for people who eat out a lot there is detailed info for fast food and restaurant chains

  10. testube (verified owner)

Used this product to limit my intake of sodium and potassium.

  11. Trudy Casto (verified owner)

I have not gone through the entire book yet, but I noticed it listed restaurants I’ve never heard of but did not list Applebee’s…..

  12. nancy j lane (verified owner)

smallness of the book and contains all that a person needs to know about nutrition

  32. paulla tremayne (verified owner)

It is great it shows you every thing

  33. Judith S. (verified owner)

This book is excellent if you frequent restaurants and fast food chains. Eighty two out of one hundred and seventy nine pages are devoted to calorie counts of their foods. I am returning the book because I don’t frequent either and need a simple, less expensive book for calorie counts of basic foods.

  34. David K. (verified owner)

This little book completely fits the bill! I just wanted a simple calorie counter book and this is it. It took me a bit to figure out why restaurants was in the middle and then I got it…everything is in alphabetical order, so restaurants come before vegetables! 🙂 Well worth the price!

  35. JBirdsong (verified owner)

    Like the layout
Seems like numbers are accurate ….
My doctor says counting calories is the best way to lose weight and that seems to work for me
It’s just work to keep track but if you do the work, you lose weight
Using this is better than using an app which tracks and keeps all your info!

  36. Jaqueline A. Phillips (verified owner)

Item in great condition better than expected and worth the wait

  37. Tom Klatt (verified owner)

    It is great

  38. Susan Turner (verified owner)

    Using it every day.

  39. Anny (verified owner)

Handy and compact but takes a little time to get familiar with the format. Since its a paperback and getting a lot of use, I reinforced the cover. Useful if your a tactile individual who prefers not to look up every item in the phone.
